The 19th anniversary of comedian Late Kim Hyung-gon has arrived.
Kim Hyung-gon suddenly collapsed in the restroom of a health sauna in Jayang-dong, Seoul, on the morning of March 11, 2006, and was transported to the hospital by ambulance, but he died of a heart attack at the age of 49.
After his death, his body was donated for research to the Catholic University of Korea Medical Center, and his remains were buried at Cheong-A Park in Seolmun-dong, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
He created the catchphrase "It should go well" through the segment "Chairman, Chairman, Our Chairman" showcased on KBS's 'Humor No. 1'.
Regarded as a master of satirical comedy, he entered politics in 1999 as a special advisor to the honorary president of the United Liberal Democrats and ran for the National Assembly as an independent in 2002, but was not elected.
His sudden passing before his challenge to perform the first-ever stand-up comedy concert by a Korean at Carnegie Hall in New York added to the sorrow.
