
BTS has claimed the top spot in idol group brand reputation, surpassing BLACKPINK and IVE.
According to the Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute, the big data analysis of idol group brand reputation for May 2025 revealed that BTS ranked first, followed by BLACKPINK in second and IVE in third.
The Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute extracted 78,857,284 pieces of big data on idol group brands from April 15, 2025, to May 15, 2025, for the analysis. This is a 5.71% decrease compared to the 83,634,817 pieces of big data from the previous April.
The brand reputation index is a metric created through big data analysis that identifies how consumers' online habits significantly influence brand consumption. Through the analysis of idol group brand reputation, it is possible to measure positive and negative evaluations of the brand, media interest, and the level of consumer engagement and communication. Qualitative assessments from brand reputation monitors were also included.
BTS, which recorded the highest brand reputation among idol groups (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook), had a participation index of 189,434, a media index of 670,360, a communication index of 2,216,243, and a community index of 3,610,577, resulting in a brand reputation index of 6,686,614. This is a 2.71% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 6,873,091 from the previous April.
BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa), which ranked second, had a participation index of 105,644, a media index of 331,176, a communication index of 1,536,709, and a community index of 2,809,787, resulting in a brand reputation index of 4,783,316. This is a 62.28% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 2,947,565 from the previous April.
IVE (An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, Lee Seo), which ranked third, had a participation index of 244,118, a media index of 464,232, a communication index of 1,378,664, and a community index of 2,555,137, resulting in a brand reputation index of 4,642,151. This is a 17.89% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 3,937,842 from the previous April.
SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, Doyoung, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino), which ranked fourth, had a participation index of 187,474, a media index of 380,234, a communication index of 1,190,288, and a community index of 2,552,651, resulting in a brand reputation index of 4,310,647. This is an 18.31% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 5,276,745 from the previous April.
BIGBANG (G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung), which ranked fifth, had a participation index of 100,058, a media index of 366,383, a communication index of 882,189, and a community index of 1,852,354, resulting in a brand reputation index of 3,200,984. This is a 1.86% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 3,142,530 from the previous April.
Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute Director Koo Chang-hwan stated, “In the May 2025 idol group brand reputation rankings, BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) ranked first. Comparing the idol group brand big data from April, which was 83,634,817, there was a 5.71% decrease. A detailed analysis shows a 7.50% decrease in brand consumption, a 6.29% decrease in brand issues, a 14.98% decrease in brand communication, and a 0.79% increase in brand spread.”
He continued, “In the May 2025 idol group brand reputation analysis, BTS ranked first, with link analysis showing high scores for ‘sponsor, host, sell out,’ and keyword analysis showing high scores for ‘Jin, ARMY, J-Hope.’ The positive ratio analysis recorded a positive rate of 91.87%.”
The top 30 idol group brand reputation rankings for May 2025 are BTS, BLACKPINK, IVE, SEVENTEEN, BIGBANG, TWICE, aespa, LE SSERAFIM, Kiki, Red Velvet, (G)I-DLE, SHINee, THE BOYZ, EXO, TO1, Apink, Oh My Girl, NCT, Stray Kids, BOYNEXTDOOR, ENHYPEN, Super Junior, ITZY, HATZ to HATZ, WANNA ONE, Fifty Fifty, IZN, BTOB, INFINITE, and ZEROBASEONE.
