Kim Ri-won, a participant in the Wave original entertainment show 'Your Love', has apologized.
On the 29th, Kim Ri-won stated on social media, "First of all, I sincerely apologize to the fellow cast members, the production team, those who have cared for me, and all the viewers who have been watching for causing concern and discomfort," and added, "Before causing any further harm, I want to directly address the facts and apologize."
She acknowledged her past as a BJ, saying, "I have conducted private content broadcasts for about 3 years: approximately 2 years from 2016, about 4 months from November 2021 to March 2022, and about 7 months from February to September 2024."
Kim Ri-won also mentioned, "During my broadcasting activities, I had a total of 6 dinner dates, and all meetings were healthy dining occasions without any physical contact. To prove this, I made sure to broadcast on those days and kept records."
She continued, "However, despite having this past unrelated to my personal circumstances, I regretfully participated in the program without informing the production team due to my own greed, which has caused disappointment and hurt to many people. I sincerely apologize once again."
Regarding her sexual identity, Kim Ri-won stated, "I am a woman who loves women," explaining, "I first became aware of my sexual orientation in middle school, and my first relationship was a serious one with a woman that lasted 2 years and 6 months."
She added, "After that, wanting to deny myself, I dated both women and men. Until June 2024, I had a long relationship with a woman, and then, in August, I met a man out of a desire to deny myself."
Kim Ri-won confessed, "(My ex-boyfriend) initially helped me by organizing my broadcast videos, but whenever I wanted to break up, I was threatened with exposure of my orientation to acquaintances and family, violence, confinement, hacking, and murder threats. In a situation where breaking up was not easy, I desperately wanted to come out myself rather than being outed by someone else, which is why I applied for the program."
She stated, "It is true that I had inappropriate broadcasts in the past and that I met a man before filming, but I believe that I have now moved on to a different profession and have organized all traces of my past broadcasts. I wanted to selfishly acknowledge that I am a lesbian, which is why I participated in the program."
In conclusion, Kim Ri-won said, "All of this stems from my personal selfishness and inappropriate past," adding, "All LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as those involved in the program and viewers, are victims. All responsibility lies solely with me. I deeply apologize once again to everyone who has been hurt because of me."
Kim Ri-won is currently participating in the country's first lesbian dating reality show, Wave's 'Your Love'. Meanwhile, suspicions have arisen regarding her past inappropriate BJ activities, drawing attention.
