Actor Kim Soo-hyun's fans have announced legal action against malicious slander and the spread of false information.
On the 22nd, the Kim Soo-hyun fan union (Yukaris, Kim Soo-hyun Gallery) released an official statement saying, "Fans have come together in agreement that we can no longer tolerate the ongoing malicious slander, dissemination of false information, defamation, and character assassination directed at Kim Soo-hyun," and announced that they have appointed lawyer Yang Tae-young from the law firm Siwoo as their legal representative.
They continued, "We will actively pursue legal action against malicious commenters and harmful posts, including third-party reports, and will also take legal action against malicious articles or distorted reports based on false information."
The fans stated, "Kim Soo-hyun has quietly done his best in his position for years, and we believe it is our natural responsibility to protect the honor and rights of such an actor," adding, "This is a voluntary movement to protect Kim Soo-hyun's rights and maintain a healthy fan culture, and we will respond firmly to any malicious attempts."
Kim Soo-hyun is currently in conflict with the family of the late actor Kim Sae-ron, who passed away last February. The family is maintaining their position that Kim Soo-hyun and the deceased were in a romantic relationship and are demanding an official apology. They have continued to expose Kim Soo-hyun's private life, leading to disruptions in his drama and advertising schedules amid ongoing controversy.
Additionally, Kim Soo-hyun has completely denied allegations that he was in a relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron since her minor years during a press conference. He stated, "I did not date her when she was a minor; we met after she became an adult," and added, "I cannot call a lie the truth just because of coercion. I will prove it."
