Actress Lee Soo-kyung reveals her struggle with facial paralysis.

In the 16th episode of the SBS Plus and E Channel joint production variety show 'Solo Because', airing on the 22nd at 8:30 PM, Lee Soo-kyung invites fellow actors Park Sung-woong and Kim Ha-ri, with whom she is collaborating in her first play 'Rendezvous', to her home.

On this day, Lee Soo-kyung is expected to share her daily life as she prepares for the play 'Rendezvous'. The play depicts the special meeting between a scientist, Tae-seob, who is dedicated to rocket development, and Ji-hee, the daughter of a noodle shop who finds freedom through dance, illustrating the journey of two different individuals defying the physical law of gravity in pursuit of love.

Lee Soo-kyung, who plays the role of Ji-hee, has been diligently practicing by sticking scripts around her house. She confessed, “The script is really difficult,” adding, “I even developed facial paralysis because I wanted to do well.” In response, Hwang Jung-eum empathized with her, saying, “I also started getting gray hair when I began acting. I think it’s because I’m using parts of my brain that I didn’t use before.”

Facial nerve paralysis varies in symptoms among patients, but generally includes pain behind the ear, a stiff feeling in the face, a tingling sensation in the cheeks, and awkward movements of the eyelids. In traditional medicine, it is referred to as 'Guanwasa'. Actors Oh Jong-hyuk and Shinhwa's Lee Min-woo have also revealed that they experienced facial paralysis.

Lee Soo-kyung's challenges in theater and her battle with facial paralysis will be revealed in the 16th episode of 'Solo Because', airing on the 22nd at 8:30 PM on SBS Plus and E Channel.
