Actress Kang Mal-geum recently shared her thoughts on her appearance in the trending series 'Poksak Sogassuda'.

The movie 'Lobby', which will be released on April 2, tells the story of a startup CEO, Chang-wook, who knows nothing but research, starting his first lobbying golf game to win a 4 trillion won national project. Actor Ha Jung-woo takes on the roles of director and lead once again after 'Roller Coaster' and 'Heo Sam-gwan'. Kang Mal-geum plays the role of a corrupt minister who is a decision-maker for the national project.

Kang Mal-geum made a special appearance as Geum-ja, the owner of a guesthouse in Nampo-dong, who puts Aesoon (IU) and Gwan-sik (Park Bo-gum) in a tough spot after they run away to Busan in the recently released Netflix series 'Poksak Sogassuda'.

Kang Mal-geum said, "I feel proud. There are many great actors in 'Lobby', and I hoped to contribute to this work, and many people enjoyed 'Poksak Sogassuda', which made me feel proud personally. Friends have been reaching out to me," she said.

She continued, "The amount of my role didn't matter. The role was good. The writing was well done, and it was a high-quality role. My mom and sister watched it together and loved it. 'Poksak Sogassuda' is that kind of work," she said.

Regarding her character in the series, Kang Mal-geum explained, "Isn't the writing really good? I think people around my age can relate a lot. In my childhood, there were women like that in poor neighborhoods. They would be angry, and you wouldn't know when they would get mad even while laughing. They were exactly the kind of women I know, so I thought it would be fun to act."

Kang Mal-geum playfully remarked about her co-stars IU and Park Bo-gum in 'Poksak Sogassuda', saying, "How happy would it be just to have IU and Park Bo-gum sitting next to me?"

She also shared, "One thing I can't forget while filming is that I couldn't sleep before a scene where I had a fight with senior Oh Min-ae. I kept waking up. At that time, the movie 'Mureohan' had just started, so I watched it again. Watching senior Jeon Do-yeon in the movie, I felt that despite her extensive experience, she always gives her best. She is like a teacher to me. Although she doesn't know me, I thought I should do my best like senior Jeon Do-yeon. I couldn't sleep, but I thought I should stay focused."

Regarding her roles as a villain in 'Poksak Sogassuda' and 'Lobby', she said, "I usually play good roles, but now I'm playing a villain. It's not that I'm trying to achieve something evil; good roles consider everyone's position, while villains don't care about those around them. I didn't think about what to do with Aesoon and Gwan-sik; I just did what I wanted. I think thinking only of my own position is what makes a villain. Somehow, playing a villain feels comfortable. There's nothing to worry about," she joked.

Finally, Kang Mal-geum expressed her passion, saying, "The movie 'Chansil-i's Luck' opened the door for me. Then I got tired and took a break after 'Bad Mom'. I plan to start again with enough rest, love, and energy. Each work is a world, and I want to choose the works I want to dedicate myself to and approach them with a stronger new energy."
