A famous chef has been sued for not paying 3.8 million won in compensation to a person who was injured after being struck by a glass window at his restaurant.
According to a report by TV Chosun on the 5th, a glass window suddenly fell at the restaurant owned by chef A, who is known from television, in Seocho-gu, Seoul, last November, hitting a woman walking in front of it.
The released closed-circuit (CC) TV footage shows a woman walking with an umbrella suddenly being knocked down by something that fell.
The woman, identified as B, in her 40s, suffered bruises on her legs and face and was diagnosed with a four-week recovery period.
Afterwards, B demanded 3.8 million won from the restaurant as compensation for medical expenses, but they could not reach an agreement.
Ultimately, the chef was confirmed to have been booked on charges of causing bodily injury and underwent two police investigations.
The investigation revealed that the restaurant, operated by the famous chef, had the glass window improperly secured at the time of the accident.
