Singer and JYP representative producer Park Jin-young has lost his father.
On the night of the 19th, Park Jin-young posted a photo with his father on social media, stating, “My father passed away just before the last live broadcast of ‘The Ddandara’ started today.” He added, “Interestingly, while I was recording just 10 minutes away from the hospital where my father was, he passed away. Thanks to that, I was able to see him while he was still alive before the recording and then again right after he passed.”
He expressed his difficult feelings, saying, “In fact, my father had been suffering from dementia for a long time, and for the past year, he had been almost unconscious before he passed away, so our family was mentally prepared. Still, seeing my father who has passed away feels like my heart has dropped to the floor.”
Park Jin-young also mentioned, “However, when my father was in the early stages of dementia and became pure like a child, he heard about Jesus and completely believed in the gospel, so our Christian family feels like we can hold on. We know where he has gone and that we will meet again soon. If that wasn’t the case, it would have been really hard.”
He added a letter to his father, saying, “My Best Friend, whom I called ‘Dad’ until the end instead of ‘Father,’ who always believed in me and supported me, is now reading this from heaven. The person I have become is truly thanks to you, Dad. Thank you, Dad. You were truly the best dad to me. Let’s meet again and talk a lot.”
Finally, Park Jin-young politely requested, “To my acquaintances, I apologize, but the funeral will be held quietly only among our family, so I would appreciate it if you could be with us in spirit.”
