Melomance's Kim Min-seok has won the Best Male Newcomer Award.

The '9th Korea Musical Awards' was held on the evening of the 13th at the Universal Art Center in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Musical actor Lee Geon-myung, who has been with the Korea Musical Awards since its first edition, served as the MC, and The M.C Orchestra joined again this year.

The nominees for the 'Best Male Newcomer' award included Kim Min-seok ('Hadestown'), Son Woo-hyun ('A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder'), Shin Eun-ho ('Rimbaud'), Lim Ji-seop ('Dear Evan Hansen'), and Lim Tae-hyun ('Etc.').

Kim Min-seok, who won the Best Newcomer Award for his first musical challenge 'Hadestown', expressed, "I am very grateful. I didn't expect to receive this. I will read what I have written as it is. My hands are shaking so much." He added, "Meeting 'Hadestown' was such a great fortune. Thanks to the 'Hadestown' team, I felt that the process is much more memorable than the result. I have gained a lot of joy recently. Rather than being proud of myself, I am happy to be able to take pride in the process. I would also like to thank the audience who came to see us. I always support your tomorrow."

The '9th Korea Musical Awards' is a musical awards ceremony organized by the Korea Musical Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Council. It evaluates and analyzes the trends in the musical market over the past year and selects the award winners through fair voting by a panel of experts and audience votes.
