Lee Jae-eun, an MBC announcer, mourned the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster.

On the 30th, MBC FM4U's 'Lee Seok-hoon's Brunch Cafe' was hosted by Lee Jae-eun. She shared, "I was watching the news yesterday and felt a lot of emotions, including sadness, regret, and helplessness. I pray for the victims once again." She mentioned the disaster that occurred on the 29th, saying, "Yesterday, everyone checked the news with a heavy heart. I pray for the victims' souls."

Lee Jae-eun also said, "Having hosted the news for a long time, I realize that living a safe and healthy ordinary life is not something to be taken for granted; it is precious." She added, "It was not easy to gather my thoughts while conducting the news special report late into the night."

She expressed, "It has been difficult to see many heartbreaking incidents while hosting the news for a long time. My emotions show in my expressions and voice, so I tried to suppress them, which made my heart ache even more. I thought that not expressing my feelings was the professional attitude of an anchor, but it only made it harder."

Lee Jae-eun comforted the listeners, saying, "I think it's important not to force yourself to suppress your feelings but to allow yourself to grieve and take the time to embrace and comfort yourself." She added, "We need to focus on preventing recurrence, ensuring proper accident recovery, and providing support and comfort to the bereaved families."

Lee Jae-eun mentioned, "Among the victims who lost their lives in the disaster, there were many family stories of those who had gone on trips before the end of the year. There was a family traveling to celebrate their father's 80th birthday, a couple about to get married, and even a 3-year-old child. There were many heartbreaking stories." She continued, "I feel how precious family is and can hardly imagine how difficult it is for the bereaved families. I sincerely extend my deepest condolences."

Originally, on this day, actress Cha Joo-young was scheduled to be a special DJ to promote tvN's 'Wongyeong,' with Lee Hyun-wook as a guest. However, the event was completely canceled due to the large-scale casualties from the Jeju Air passenger plane crash.

On the morning of the 29th, at 9:03 AM, Jeju Air flight C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed into the airport's outer wall while attempting an emergency landing at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do, resulting in the aircraft being partially destroyed and completely burned. The fire department rescued only 2 crew members from the aircraft, which had a total of 181 people on board, including 175 passengers and 6 crew members, and transported them to the hospital. The government has designated a national mourning period until January 4, 2025.
