Following actor Choi Jae-rim, actor Cha Ji-yeon also showed health issues, leading to the suspension of the performance.
On the afternoon of the 22nd, the musical 'Gwanghwamun Sonata' performed at the D-Cube Link Art Center in Guro-gu, Seoul, was suddenly interrupted during the first act. Cha Ji-yeon, who plays the role of Wolhwa, exhibited temporary hyperventilation symptoms, prompting the production company CJ ENM to decide to suspend the performance.
CJ ENM apologized through their official SNS account that night, stating, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to those who made the precious trip. We will refund 110% of the ticket payment to those who purchased tickets for the performance."
They also added, "Cha Ji-yeon has been moved to the hospital and is receiving necessary treatment based on the specialist's opinion, and is currently resting and recovering. She sincerely apologizes for causing concern and expressed her commitment to focus on recovery and return to the stage in better form."
Earlier, on the 20th, the musical 'Cyrano' being performed at the CJ Towol Theater in the Arts Center of Seoul was suspended after the first act due to the health issues of the lead actor Choi Jae-rim.
The production company announced, "Choi Jae-rim has canceled the performance for health reasons. A 110% refund based on the ticket payment will be processed in two steps for those who purchased tickets for the performance."
Choi Jae-rim was also performing in 'Kinky Boots' in Seongnam and 'Chicago' in Busan. Ultimately, the schedules for 'Kinky Boots' and 'Chicago' performances were canceled. His appearance on KBS Radio's 'Park Myung-soo's Radio Show' on the 26th has also been canceled.
