Broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu has come under fire for derogatory remarks about staff.
On the 29th of last month, a video titled ‘Dog's Life is the Best! Is a Dog's Worth This Much? Shock’ was posted on the YouTube channel ‘Workman’.
On that day, Jang Sung-kyu experienced being a manager for dog models appearing in dramas and advertisements. While listening to discussions about the job, he asked, “How much does the highest-paid dog model earn?” to which the senior manager replied, “10 million won for a full day.”
Jang Sung-kyu, looking surprised, then said to the staff, “Hey, you guys are worse than dogs.” The production team added the subtitle ‘K-Worker Shocked by Dogs’ to this scene.
However, as this scene spread on social media, criticisms arose that Jang Sung-kyu's remarks crossed the line.
Netizens expressed their discomfort, saying, “That’s inappropriate,” “He should be more careful with his words,” and “Can’t he distinguish between what to say and what not to say in front of people?”
Meanwhile, the ‘Workman’ channel, where Jang Sung-kyu appears, has 4.16 million subscribers.
