The family of the late model Kim Jong-seok has corrected false and defamatory rumors.
On the 9th, Kim Jong-seok's sister stated on social media, “The claim that he ‘stormed his girlfriend's house while drunk and caused a ruckus with a soju bottle, then jumped off when the police arrived’ is not true. Jong-seok was going through a very difficult time both financially and mentally due to a recent fraud he experienced with an acquaintance. He lost all his assets and was struggling with debts caused by the fraud. The choice he made was due to the emptiness and many thoughts he had in a tiring and difficult situation at that time,” she revealed.
She continued, “At that time, Jong-seok and his girlfriend were having separate drinking parties with their acquaintances, and worried about not being able to contact his girlfriend, Jong-seok went to her house with a friend. His girlfriend, his sister, and his sister's boyfriend were asleep, and Jong-seok and his friend were chatting and joking with another male acquaintance who was awake. Later, when his girlfriend woke up, there was no unilateral assault or ruckus from Jong-seok; it was simply a verbal argument between the couple,” she explained.
She added, “During the process of trying to mediate the argument, as other attendees began to get somewhat heated, Jong-seok's friend broke a soju bottle to prevent the fight, which led to a police report being filed. The claim that they ran away or avoided the police when they arrived is also not true,” and she revealed recordings containing the voices of the police and the deceased's acquaintances.
The sister urged, “Those who know the family, friends, and Jong-seok's usual demeanor feel wronged, hurt, and are all suffering together. I ask that this be the last time for articles that are not factual and for malicious comments to be prohibited. Malicious comments have already been reported. We will also report any further false rumors or defamatory comments immediately, so please stop the defamation and criticism of the deceased.”
Kim Jong-seok passed away on the 4th at the age of 29. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
