On the 9th, Han Ye-ri posted photos on her SNS from the 'Immediate Impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol Citizen Candlelight' rally held near the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, over the past weekend. Despite the severe cold, her presence holding a candle among tens of thousands of people at the rally drew attention.
Many stars, including actors Go Ah-sung, Shin So-yul, Ko Min-si, and Lee Cheon-hee, also participated in the Yeouido candlelight vigil, joining the national voice.
Earlier, President Yoon Seok-yeol declared a state of emergency at around 10:25 PM on the 3rd, but after a resolution to lift the emergency was passed, he declared the lifting of the emergency the next morning.
Subsequently, on the 7th, a vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol was held in the National Assembly following the special law regarding First Lady Kim Gun-hee, but it was automatically discarded as the number of attending lawmakers did not reach 200.
Previously, directors Park Chan-wook, Bong Joon-ho, Jeong Ji-young, Byun Young-joo, and Jang Joon-hwan, along with actress Moon So-ri, Ko Min-si, and 81 organizations and 3,007 filmmakers, issued an emergency statement on the 8th under the name 'Filmmakers Demanding Yoon Seok-yeol's Resignation,' urging the president's resignation.
