Singer Seo In-young (40) has officially acknowledged her separation, stating that she is currently undergoing divorce proceedings after denying divorce rumors twice.
Seo In-young's agency, SW Entertainment, stated on the 28th to Maeil Business Star Today, "Seo In-young is currently in the process of divorce proceedings," adding, "The lawsuit has not yet been concluded, so no results have been announced."
Seo In-young married a businessman 9 years her senior on February last year. However, she was embroiled in divorce rumors in September of the same year and again in March this year.
During the first divorce rumor, it was reported that Seo In-young's husband, Mr. A, had recently filed for divorce against her. At that time, Seo In-young stated, "Recently, my husband unilaterally told me that 'there are personality differences' and 'we are not compatible,' but we have not discussed anything related to the lawsuit," and added, "I have no intention of divorcing my husband."
During the second divorce rumor, it was reported that Seo In-young decided to divorce her husband and filed for divorce in court. At that time, Seo In-young's agency stated, "Regarding Seo In-young's divorce, it is a matter related to her private life, and we cannot say anything at this time," and added, "We will provide an official press release once things are sorted out."
Ultimately, just one year after her marriage, Seo In-young has formalized her ongoing divorce proceedings and announced her separation.
Seo In-young debuted in 2002 by joining Jewelry's second album and played a significant role in the group's peak popularity. After the third lineup change in 2008, she gained popularity with "One More Time." She also made a name for herself as a female solo artist with hits like "Cinderella" and "Bad Girl."
Seo In-young is set to make a comeback in January next year in collaboration with composer Yoon Il-sang and lyricist Choi Eun-ha.
