Actress Kim Hee-sun has lost her mother.
Her agency, Hinge Entertainment, announced on the 2nd, "Kim Hee-sun's mother, Park Bok-soon, has passed away at the age of 86."
The funeral hall is set up in room 30 of Asan Medical Center in Seoul, and Kim Hee-sun and her husband, Park Joo-young, are listed as the bereaved. The funeral will be held at 4:40 AM on the 4th, and the burial site is Seoul Memorial Park.
Kim Hee-sun is an only daughter and had a special relationship with her mother, like friends. Throughout her entertainment career, she received strong support from her mother and is now keeping vigil at the funeral hall, feeling a deep sense of loss. Sources say, "The sadness of losing a parent and a life partner is immense."
In the past, Kim Hee-sun shared the story of being born as an only daughter. She appeared on TV Chosun's "Food Traveler" with Heo Young-man and said, "I am an only daughter, and my mother had me late. She wanted a beautiful child, so I think she didn't want to have an ugly one based on her standards," which brought laughter.
Meanwhile, Kim Hee-sun is set to return to the small screen through the new drama "There is No Next Life" (written by Shin Yi-won, directed by Seong Do-jun). The show will be released on TV Chosun and Netflix in November.
