Singer G-Dragon has appeared as the lead in a promotional video for the 2025 APEC Gyeongju Summit.
The video, featuring a glamorous cast and witty direction, has become a hot topic immediately after its release.
On the 2nd, the APEC 2025 KOREA YouTube account released a promotional video titled "The World Heads to Gyeongju." Directed by Shin Woo-seok, known for the film "Dolphin Kidnapping," G-Dragon, this year's official APEC ambassador, took center stage.

In the video, G-Dragon is seen sitting in the cockpit piloting a plane and welcoming global delegations with the line "Welcome to APEC." Following this, IVE's Jang Wonyoung appears in a hanbok, humorously shouting, "Please move the 2025 car. 2025," delivering a cheerful message.
Additionally, K-stars representing various fields, including filmmaker Park Chan-wook, former national soccer player Park Ji-sung, chef Ahn Sung-jae, and DJ Peggy Goo, made cameo appearances, adding to the video's entertainment value. Notably, scenes capturing traditional Korean hanoks and the landscapes of Gyeongju served as symbolic devices to promote Korean cultural identity to the world.
In the latter part of the video, President Lee Jae-myung makes a surprise appearance dressed as an aircraft marshaller, guiding G-Dragon's plane. This has been interpreted as a metaphor for South Korea overcoming chaos and opening new paths in the international community.
The significance of this promotional video is heightened by the fact that it was produced with all participants working pro bono. The entire cast and crew participated without compensation, contributing to a national event. The promotional video is being broadcasted domestically and internationally through various channels, including TV ads, YouTube, and outdoor digital billboards.
The preparation committee stated, "This video, created by G-Dragon and Director Shin, represents South Korea's creativity and innovation," adding, "We aim to widely convey the message that APEC is reaching out to the world through connection and innovation."
