Netflix's film ‘The History of Confession’ has confirmed its release date for August 29 and has unveiled a teaser poster and trailer.

The Netflix film ‘The History of Confession’ is a youth romance that unfolds in 1998, where a nineteen-year-old girl, Park Se-ri, plans a strategy to straighten her lifelong complex of curly hair before her once-in-a-lifetime confession, getting entangled with the transfer student Han Yoon-seok. A fresh combination of next-generation rising stars, including Gong Myung, Shin Eun-soo, Cha Woo-min, and Yoon Sang-hyun, will portray the love and friendship of youthful nineteen-year-olds, showcasing their refreshing chemistry.

Additionally, director Nam Gung-sun, recognized for his artistic direction in works like ‘Time to Gather Strength’ and ‘Ten Months of Future’, which won the Grand Prize at the Jeonju International Film Festival in 2024, is expected to depict the unpredictable stories of teenagers with his unique delicate perspective in a lovely and warm manner.

The released teaser poster captures attention with the image of nineteen-year-old Se-ri (Shin Eun-soo) struggling to straighten her fluffy curly hair like cotton candy. The colorful objects hidden within her voluminous curls, such as paper cranes and eggs, amplify the charming and quirky appeal unique to youth romance. The tagline, “Just try to straighten this hair, and I’ll make my real confession!” adds to the curiosity about whether Se-ri will successfully confess her lifelong crush after straightening her curly hair.

The teaser trailer released alongside features Se-ri's narration, “My hair started to tangle, and my life began to tangle as well,” as moments of her confession, which had been tangled like the curly hair she inherited from her father, flash by quickly, capturing attention. Self-proclaimed and acknowledged as a confession expert, Se-ri plans a once-in-a-lifetime confession operation to convey her feelings to the school’s most popular guy, Kim Hyun (Cha Woo-min), along with her friends, including the transfer student Yoon-seok (Gong Myung) from Seoul.

When Kim Hyun unexpectedly greets her, she freezes for a moment, and her frantic attempts to create the straight hair he likes, using everything from hair dryers to book covers, evoke delightful laughter and showcase Se-ri's cute and lively charm.

Meanwhile, Yoon-seok, who inadvertently joins Se-ri's confession operation right after transferring, creates a subtle chemistry with Se-ri, sparking curiosity about the unpredictable first love romance that will unfold between them.
