The film 'Back! Stage' (Director Bang Seong-jun), which captures the burning energy of youth through music, has confirmed its exclusive release at CGV in South Korea on August 18 and unveiled its teaser poster on the 28th.
'Back! Stage' revolves around the themes of music, youth, and growth, telling the story of Gi-seok, who receives an urgent call to perform as a vocalist just before a concert with a band that had rejected him two years ago, leading him to the backstage.
The role of the protagonist 'Gi-seok' is played by Yunho, a member of the group ATEEZ. He previously challenged himself in acting as 'Yujin', a member of an idol group, in the 2021 drama 'Imitation', and is expected to deliver a more vibrant performance based on his real artist experience.

Joining Gi-seok on stage are band members: Bae Jae-young as bassist 'Myung-oh', Lee Chan-woo as guitarist 'Yoo-won', and Kim Eun-ho as drummer 'Seong-hwan'. With their fresh looks and solid fundamentals, they are expected to vividly capture the vitality and energy of youth. Additionally, trusted actors Lee Sang-hee and newcomer Lee Chang-min from the Korea National University of Arts join the cast to enhance the film's immersion.
The released teaser poster features Gi-seok's back as he raises a microphone towards the audience, combined with the 'Back! Stage' logo and the band members immersed in their performance, vividly conveying the passion of youth and the energy of music. The accompanying phrase 'A stage that becomes one again, music that becomes one' hints at the emotional storyline they will unfold on stage, raising anticipation.
'Back! Stage' is a 'proper' music film that combines musicality and buzz, planned and produced by the CJ ENM OST content team, which has created numerous hit OSTs for dramas such as 'Run On', 'Yumi's Cells', 'Crash Landing on You', and 'Goblin', overseeing the entire process from planning to production and OST. The involvement of a talented production team from significant films also boasts high completion quality.
The direction is handled by Bang Seong-jun, who has gained attention at domestic and international film festivals with short films like 'Walking Backwards' (2020) and 'Time Passing Over That Hill' (2018).
Additionally, 'Back! Stage' was filmed entirely with the iPhone 16 Pro, presenting new possibilities for music snack movies. With the expertise of an experienced production team, it is expected to showcase a short yet dense direction and composition.
Meanwhile, 'Back! Stage' will be exclusively released at CGV on August 18, presenting a real music cinema that captures the authenticity of music and youth to audiences.
