The seven-member band South Carnival, representing Jeju, will officially release their new song 'Molteuli' today (26th) at noon.
South Carnival is a band that expresses the unique language, emotions, and communal life of Jeju through music, modernly recreating the 'island's sensibility.'
They embody the 'sounds of the island' by incorporating Jeju's shamanistic and haenyeo culture, folklore, and daily life into their lyrics and melodies, presenting a Korean-style world music that naturally blends tradition and modernity, local and global through an Afrobeat-based sound.

The new song 'Molteuli' refers to a person who takes care of horses in Jeju, and it expresses the memories of childhood spent following their father, who was a Molteuli, and connecting with horses. The vocalizations like 'eoryeoryeoryeorye' that appear throughout the song are based on actual sounds used to communicate with horses, and the song warmly depicts the loneliness, confidence, and bond with horses felt by a young Molteuli.
With the release of this single, South Carnival has also announced active overseas activities. On July 23rd (Wednesday), they will participate in the indoor music festival 'Radical Music Network 2025' held in Shibuya, Tokyo, sharing the stage with artists from Japan and Spain, and from July 25th (Friday) to 27th (Sunday), they are set to perform on 'The Palace Of Wonder' stage at Japan's largest music festival, 'Fuji Rock Festival 2025.' This performance has been selected for the '2025 Overseas Performance Support Project for Popular Music' organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency.
South Carnival is also set to release another new song in August, planning to further expand their presence as a 'band singing about Jeju' not only domestically but also on international stages.
