Actors Kim Min-kyu and Won Kyu-bin bring a new breeze through ‘Cheongdam International High School 2’.
The new drama ‘Cheongdam International High School 2’, set to premiere on July 3 (Thursday), is a high-teen psychological thriller that combines a power game at the elite Cheongdam International High School with a youth romance.
In the drama, Kim Min-kyu plays the role of Cha Jin-wook, the illegitimate child of a newly emerging conglomerate who transfers to Cheongdam International High School, while Won Kyu-bin takes on the role of Lee Sa-rang, a new student at Cheongdam International High School who becomes a member of ‘Diamond 6’ following his brother Lee So-mang (played by Yoo Jeong-hoo). The two are new characters this season, expected to add tension to the plot.

With high expectations for the thrilling visuals and perfect narratives of Kim Min-kyu and Won Kyu-bin, the two shared their character charms and filming impressions on the 25th (today).
First, Kim Min-kyu explained his reason for choosing the project, saying, “I found it interesting because it was a genre and character I hadn’t done before,” and added, “I thought it was a good opportunity to show a new face as an actor, so I decided to participate.”
He mentioned that he had many discussions with the director regarding the project, stating, “Since I am joining a new season, I thought about how to express the character in a three-dimensional way without feeling out of place.” He expressed his unique passion, saying, “Cha Jin-wook has a strange charm that is not unpleasant. At first, it’s hard to know what he’s thinking, but as time goes on, his actions become more convincing. That aspect makes him a very attractive character,” revealing his affection for the character.
Additionally, Kim Min-kyu added keywords for his character such as ‘illegitimate child’, ‘poker face’, and ‘lonely wolf’, increasing anticipation. He said, “The character Cha Jin-wook has a fatal weakness of being an illegitimate child and can be expressed as a poker face that is hard to read. The term ‘lonely wolf’ was mentioned by the director, and if you’re curious about the reason, please watch the show live,” sparking curiosity.
Won Kyu-bin, who is making his drama debut through this project, shared, “I was one of the viewers who enjoyed the previous season. I was very curious about what stories would unfold in this season,” and expressed his excitement, saying, “I was honored to be cast as Lee Sa-rang, and I wanted to express the lovely character of Lee Sa-rang well.”
Moreover, Won Kyu-bin revealed that he prepared a lot for the character, saying, “There’s a scene in the drama where I ride a motorcycle, so I got a motorcycle license, and externally, I grew my hair to create a fluffy hairstyle that reflects the charm of love.”
Finally, Won Kyu-bin stated, “This is my first work in life, so it’s a very special project. I filmed with the hope that it would remain a special project for the viewers, so I ask for a lot of interest and viewership,” while Kim Min-kyu added, “It’s a drama full of charm that you can’t let your guard down, so please show it a lot of love.”
Meanwhile, ‘Cheongdam International High School 2’ will be simultaneously released on Netflix, Wavve, Tving, etc., at 5 PM on July 3 (Thursday), and will also be broadcast on the comprehensive channel MBN at 00:10 AM on July 5 (Saturday).
