JTBC's Han Min-yong has shared the news of her pregnancy.
On the 26th, she revealed on her social media, “Many have asked, but for some reason, I felt shy to disclose it properly,” and added, “Now, my belly has become a definite presence,” confirming her pregnancy.
The video accompanying her post shows Han Min-yong taking deep breaths while cradling her belly and focusing on preparing for the news, catching attention.
Han Min-yong stated, “Just as most women do not immediately halt their careers upon becoming pregnant, I am continuing to present the news as usual,” and added, “However, the difference is that I need to show my increasingly prominent belly to many viewers through TV.”
She continued, “It seems that a pregnant anchor is still a somewhat unfamiliar sight in our country. In fact, I also find my changing appearance a bit strange and awkward,” expressing her concern that viewers might feel the same. “I hope it will be accepted naturally,” she added.
Finally, with the support and congratulations from her JTBC colleagues, Han Min-yong, who is delivering the news in good condition, concluded, “I will continue to do my best, just as I did before becoming pregnant.”
Han Min-yong is currently the main anchor for JTBC's 'Newsroom' on weekdays. She holds the titles of the longest-serving weekend anchor in JTBC history, the first female main anchor on weekdays, and the youngest anchor.
In 2021, she married Kim Min-kwan, a reporter also affiliated with JTBC.
