
Actress Sunwoo Yong-yeo (79) shared unforgettable memories with the late Lee Byung-chul, the founder of Samsung Group.
In a video released on the YouTube channel on the 25th, Sunwoo Yong-yeo traveled to the Yonago region of Japan with actress Jeon Won-joo, and during dinner at a local ryokan, she revealed an anecdote from Tokyo in the 1970s.
She recalled, “At that time, I went to Tokyo after receiving an award from TBC, and Chairman Lee Byung-chul was also there,” adding, “The chairman, Kim Min-ja, Lee Soon-jae, Lee Nak-hoon, and I had dinner together at a sushi restaurant.”
She continued, “It was 55 years ago, and the meal cost over 5 million won,” surprising those around her.
Additionally, Sunwoo Yong-yeo shared a story about Chairman Lee giving a cash gift to Lee Soon-jae at that time. “The chairman said, ‘Go shopping,’ and gave the same amount to the four of us, and I thought, ‘Indeed, people who make a lot of money take out money that fits the number of people,’” she said.

Reflecting on her meeting with the chairman, Sunwoo Yong-yeo expressed her nostalgia for the late chairman, saying, “He treated us really well.”
Meanwhile, Sunwoo Yong-yeo debuted in the entertainment industry in 1965 as a dancer in TBC's first generation. TBC was a broadcasting company operated by the Samsung Group, which was established in 1964 and merged into KBS due to media consolidation in 1980.
Recently, Sunwoo Yong-yeo also appeared on the tvN entertainment program ‘You Quiz on the Block,’ where she revealed the story of how she was selected as a first-generation TBC dancer after an interview with Chairman Lee Byung-chul, gaining attention.
