The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul summoned Lee Kyung-kyu on the 24th for violating the Road Traffic Act and conducted an investigation. The investigation lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes, from 9 PM to 10:45 PM. He is accused of driving in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, while under the influence of medication for panic disorder on the 8th.
At that time, Lee Kyung-kyu was driving a vehicle of the same type as another car, which led to a mistaken report of theft, and both the police's drug screening test and the National Forensic Service analysis confirmed positive results. He stated, “I did not clearly recognize that the panic disorder medication could affect my driving,” and added, “I have gained awareness that I should refrain from driving.”
Through his lawyer, he expressed, “I have been suffering from panic disorder for 10 years, and that day my physical condition deteriorated rapidly, so I drove to go to the hospital,” and concluded, “Ultimately, it was an inexcusable carelessness.” He apologized to his fans, saying, “I am sorry for disappointing those who have believed in and supported me for a long time.”
