South Korea's first occult political thriller 'Sinmyeong' has finalized its release date from the original May 28 to June 2 (Monday).
Regarding the change in the release date of 'Sinmyeong', the production company stated, "We adjusted the distribution schedule so that more audiences can watch the film in a better environment," and added, "We decided to release it in the first week of June when national attention is focused, coinciding with 'Election Day' and the Memorial Day holiday."
Previously, 'Sinmyeong' gained explosive reactions online with just its launch poster and two trailers, quickly rising as a highly anticipated film. In particular, actress Kim Gyu-ri's chilling acting transformation and sharp dialogue reflecting reality heated up communities and social media immediately upon release.

Riding on this wave of excitement, ticket reservations will sequentially open at theaters such as CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Megabox in line with the change in the release date, officially starting the meeting with audiences.
The main poster released alongside features the protagonist 'Yoon Ji-hee' (played by Kim Gyu-ri) with an enigmatic smile and a strange shadow flowing across her face, creating a beautiful yet eerie atmosphere. In particular, the intense phrase "I sat in the place of the dead while alive!" hints at the huge secret she is hiding, further heightening the tension.
The film 'Sinmyeong', entangled with power, journalism, sorcery, and conspiracy surrounding mysterious forces, will reveal its true nature in theaters nationwide on June 2, when political tension reaches its peak.
