The global comprehensive entertainment company ‘Blitzway Studio’ has changed its name to ‘Blitzway Entertainment’ through a resolution at the regular shareholders' meeting held on March 28, and is set to implement a new strategy focused on artist IP and content production. This change is a decision aimed at enhancing the corporate image and diversifying the business, as part of a strategy to clarify its identity as a content-centric company.
With sophisticated modeling technology and unparalleled visual construction capabilities, Blitzway has established a global brand presence in the high-end figure market. Through this name change, Blitzway plans to build a comprehensive entertainment system that encompasses the entire content industry based on the brand assets it has accumulated. The figure business will maintain its existing structure while being operated in parallel with the content-centric business.
In particular, amid the recent possibility of lifting the ban on Korean content in China and the growing global demand for K-content, Blitzway Entertainment is strengthening its overseas expansion strategy for its affiliated actors and original content. Based on artists active in various genres such as dramas, films, and variety shows, Blitzway is seeking to establish an integrated system that organically connects production, management, and global distribution.
Recently, the global activities of its affiliated actors have been remarkable. Ju Ji-hoon, who recorded top performances both domestically and internationally with the Netflix series ‘Emergency Center’, continues the momentum by joining the live-action series of Naver Webtoon’s representative work ‘The Remarried Empress’, which has accumulated 2.6 billion views globally. Chun Woo-hee, who ranked 1st and 2nd in the Netflix global rankings simultaneously with ‘The Eight Show’ and ‘Not a Hero’, is set to return in the second half of this year with the drama ‘My Youth’ alongside Song Joong-ki. Woo Do-hwan is expected to expand his global fan base with more refined action and emotional acting in ‘Hunting Dogs’ Season 2.
In addition, Blitzway Entertainment's drama production company ‘Blitzway Production’ is planning and developing new works in various genres such as revenge dramas, mysteries, and youth stories with a team of over ten writers, including Yoo Bo-ra from ‘Secret’ and Jang Hong-cheol from ‘Mr. Period’. Last year, it proved its production capabilities by presenting tvN’s ‘Love is on a Narrow Bridge’, and this year it has been selected for a support project by the Korea Creative Content Agency to produce short dramas. Furthermore, discussions for co-productions with domestic terrestrial broadcasters and global OTT platforms are actively ongoing.
Chairman of the Board Baek Seong-woong of Blitzway Entertainment stated, “Based on our proven global brand operation experience and creative capabilities in the figure business, we will strengthen our competitiveness in the story and character-centered content market,” and added, “This name change is a strategic expansion in line with the changing industry environment and a significant leap towards becoming a content-centric company.” He further stated, “The existing figure business will maintain its unique identity and operate stably in parallel, while we will practically enhance the potential for expansion in the global market through a new growth model that combines artist IP and original content.”
