Actor Lee Jun-young has shocked audiences by portraying an unprecedented villain character in ‘Weak Hero Class 2’.
Lee Jun-young captivated global viewers with his multidimensional performance as Geum Seong-jae in the Netflix series ‘Weak Hero Class 2’, which was released on the afternoon of the 25th.
‘Weak Hero Class 2’ tells the story of a model student, Yeon Si-eun (played by Park Ji-hoon), who transfers to Eunjang High School with the trauma of having faced violence for a friend but ultimately failing to protect them. To ensure he never loses a friend again, he confronts even greater violence, leading to a brutal survival story and a brilliant tale of growth.

In ‘Weak Hero Class 2’, Lee Jun-young plays Geum Seong-jae, a free spirit who seeks only fun and does not wish to belong anywhere or to anyone. He is a seemingly carefree yet chilling ‘my pace’ character who appears to be the closest to the leader of the delinquent alliance.
In the released episode, Geum Seong-jae makes his first appearance enjoying a game at a PC room. Upon hearing someone badmouthing him from across the room, he walks over without hesitation and mercilessly assaults the person before calmly returning to his seat and immersing himself back into the game, revealing his brutal side.
When Geum Seong-jae first confronts Yeon Si-eun, he swings his fist at him with a subtle smile, sending chills down the viewers' spines. In a bloody fight scene on the rooftop, he flawlessly executed intense action that resembled a real fight, enhancing the immersion.
In ‘Weak Hero Class 2’, Lee Jun-young perfectly embodies the ruthless villain Geum Seong-jae, successfully transforming his acting once again and adding another iconic character to his repertoire. He has proven his worth as a ‘trustworthy actor’ with his chilling and terrifying portrayal of a villain, continuing the ‘handsome trash’ label he earned from previous works like ‘D.P.’, ‘Mask Girl’, and ‘Brave Citizen’.
Lee Jun-young, who left a strong impression as a deserter in the 2021 Netflix series ‘D.P.’, has perfectly expressed unprecedented villain characters in the Netflix series ‘Mask Girl’ and the film ‘Brave Citizen’, establishing his unique presence. In the Netflix series ‘Melomovie’, released last February, he played Hong Si-jun, a self-proclaimed genius who is actually an unknown composer, portraying an ex-lover with a different emotional pace, resonating with reality.
In the hit series ‘You’re Beautiful’, which dominated Netflix's Top 10 in 39 countries worldwide, he played the pure and earnest young man Yeong-beom, who only has eyes for his girlfriend Geum-myeong (IU), capturing the hearts of global viewers. From a sweet and lovey-dovey couple to a heartbreaking breakup after a long-term relationship, he delivered a touching pure love story, once again proving his limitless character adaptability.
Lee Jun-young will meet viewers in the new KBS2 Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘24-Hour Health Club’, which premieres on the 30th.
