BTS has added another song to its list of tracks with 500 million streams on the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify.
The title track 'IDOL' from BTS's repackaged album 'LOVE YOURSELF 結 'Answer'', released in August 2018, has surpassed 500 million cumulative streams on Spotify (as of the April 8 chart). This marks BTS's 15th song to achieve 500 million streams.
'IDOL' is a song with a South African dance style, featuring a blend of traditional Korean rhythms and sounds layered over African beats, supported by trendy EDM sources and trap groove rap.

Upon its release, it reached 11th place on the US Billboard Hot 100 and 21st on the UK Official Singles Chart, gaining global popularity. In 2022, it received a 'Platinum' certification in the streaming category from the Japan Record Association.
Meanwhile, 'IDOL (Feat. Nicki Minaj)', featuring Nicki Minaj, is also approaching 200 million streams on Spotify with approximately 190 million plays.
