Tving is introducing Korea's first car racing variety show.
Set to premiere in November, the Tving original 'Super Race Freestyle' features top drivers from Korea competing for a grand prize of 100 million won in the country's largest motorsport event, the '2025 O-NE Super Race Championship'.
With this, Tving is expanding the spectrum of sports entertainment content, following baseball, basketball, soccer, and tennis, by presenting the first-ever variety show based on the Super Race Championship.
In particular, the production team, known for creating the car variety show phenomenon 'Top Gear Korea', including PD Kim Young-hwa, PD Choi Young-rak, and PD Lee Byung-gak, along with CJ ENM's EP Lee Woo-hyung, who gained attention with 'The Great Escape: The Story', is expected to deliver a higher quality racing content.
The program offers a rich array of content, from tuning stock cars to strategy meetings that are as intense as real-life scenarios, and thrilling racing competitions. It will introduce 'Freestyle Tuning Rules' that allow all tuning related to engines, bodies, and aerodynamics in every match.
Participating teams can purchase stock cars within a budget of 100 million won and tune them without any rules or restrictions, showcasing an infinite speed competition that breaks the physical limits of stock cars through skill, intuition, and competitive spirit.
Additionally, missions and special rounds revealed in each episode will create variables in the competition, providing overwhelming immersion with the racers' growth and competitive narratives, along with the thrilling excitement of tuning and racing.
Moreover, 'Super Race Freestyle' features well-known top drivers in the domestic racing scene, including Lee Chang-wook, Kim Dong-eun, Noh Dong-ki, Choi Kwang-bin, Hwang Jin-woo, and Park Kyu-seung, as well as rising stars Kim Hwa-rang and Kim Si-woo, and comedian-turned-racer Han Min-kwan, along with the only female driver, 'Drift Queen' Park Si-hyun, competing for the podium.
Celebrity managers such as Danny An, Uee, Yoon Bo-mi, Kwak Beom, Kyung Soo-jin, Jung Hyuk, Seung-hee, Jo Jin-se, Um Ji-yoon, and Yoon Ha-jung will add new fun by showcasing 1:1 matching chemistry with active drivers. Additionally, a team of car enthusiast MCs will join, including Kim Jin-pyo, a former professional racing driver and racing team director, and god Park Jun-hyung, who runs a car YouTube channel and is a true car enthusiast.
The teaser trailer released on the 16th signals the start of fierce competition, capturing the fiery competitive spirit of racers and the diverse visuals of racing cars, drawing attention. Furthermore, the sounds of engines cutting through the circuit, the palpable tension, and the cheers and sighs of team managers reveal the overwhelming scale and energy unique to 'Super Race Freestyle'.
Along with this, the names of the 10 teams, the players' suits, and the sponsor names attached to the vehicles are captured in the video, sparking curiosity about which brands each team has partnered with.
'Super Race Freestyle' plans to present live broadcast content that expands the excitement of the actual race by linking it with the final round of the Super Race Championship held at Yongin Everland Speedway on November 2.
A Tving representative stated, “'Super Race Freestyle' is a project that combines the charm of car racing, which has captivated enthusiasts, with entertainment elements based on CJ's 'O-NE Super Race Championship', which has led the domestic motorsport culture, enhancing public accessibility.” They added, “Tving will strengthen its position as an OTT platform with competitive content by expanding genre diversity through original content that combines sports and entertainment.”
'Super Race Freestyle' will be available on Tving and Wavve in November.
