Broadcaster Lee Kyung-kyu candidly shared his feelings after the recent 'drug driving' controversy.
On the 15th, the tvN STORY show 'What to leave behind' featured Lee Young-ja, Kim Sook, and Park Se-ri treating Lee Kyung-kyu to a delicious meal.
On this day, the juniors talked about Lee Kyung-kyu's good deeds and mentioned the past broadcast of 'Conscience Refrigerator'. However, as the good deeds mentioned were few, Lee Young-ja revealed, "The good deeds are too weak to bring up."
In response, Lee Kyung-kyu said, "How much do I have to say, drug driving," and brought up the controversy first.
He continued, "I realized that I could think about death while living," and added, "It was very serious. Now, (time) has passed, and I feel better, but the trauma lasts a long time."
When Lee Young-ja showed tears, Lee Kyung-kyu lightened the mood by saying, "I often joked that 'if you avoid the police station, you'll end up at the police station,'” and added, “I went to the police station and the police station. I was also someone who stood on the photo line,” in a self-deprecating manner.
When a junior once asked, "Do you also feel distressed when you see malicious comments?" Lee Kyung-kyu said, "Most people are less interested in others than you think, so don't take it too much to heart," but he later shared, "When I received (malicious comments), it wasn't like that," expressing that "it felt like everyone in the world was looking only at me."
As the atmosphere significantly dampened, Lee Kyung-kyu said, "At that time, I was really doing a lot of programs," and added, "There was no news that didn't go out. I did 20 programs a week," bringing laughter with his cheerful banter.

In June, Lee Kyung-kyu was reported for suspected vehicle theft after driving someone else's car of the same model as his own to his company from an indoor golf practice range in Gangnam, Seoul. It was reported that the police determined that the parking management staff had confused the cars and mistakenly relayed the information to Lee Kyung-kyu.
The responding police conducted a breathalyzer test, which yielded a negative result, but a preliminary drug test came back positive. It was later reported that the National Forensic Service also conveyed the positive result to the police.
After being investigated by the police, Lee Kyung-kyu stated, "I did not realize that I should not drive when taking medication for panic disorder and when my body was sick," and added, "In the future, if there are such types of medications among the ones I take, I think it would be better to refrain from driving."
His agency, ADG Company, also stated, "Lee Kyung-kyu was in a situation of moving for a hospital visit while taking his usual medication for panic disorder and cold symptoms, but he acknowledges that it was a matter that required more caution," and apologized, saying, "Lee Kyung-kyu deeply reflects on this and will be careful about driving after taking medication to ensure that such incidents do not happen again."
