Actress Kim Nam-joo (54) announced that she will be pausing her YouTube activities for a time of reorganization after 5 months.
On the 13th, Kim Nam-joo shared this news through a video titled ‘Hey, come here for a second~ | Kim Nam-joo Interview’ on her YouTube channel ‘Kim Nam-joo’.
In the video, Kim Nam-joo explained cautiously, “I feel like I’ve been running without a break. I want to take a moment to catch my breath and come back in a better form.”
Reflecting on her 5 months as a YouTuber, where she openly shared her daily life and thoughts, she recalled, “The first shoot was 140 days ago. I was really nervous and anxious,” adding, “When I first started YouTube, it felt so awkward that I could hardly move. There was no script, and I didn’t know what to do.”
She continued, “After revealing my home, I saw many comments saying, ‘It felt like I was seeing her life with the kids,’ and ‘It feels warm.’ They said it was much more comfortable and real than my appearances in variety shows or dramas.” She also mentioned, “Listening to my recorded voice and seeing my face on variety shows felt awkward, but interestingly, I felt comfortable with YouTube. It was a new experience and a time for self-reflection.”
However, she still feels the need for a time of reorganization. Kim Nam-joo expressed her gratitude to the production team, saying, “Thank you for your hard work. It must have been tough,” and reiterated, “Now I want to take a moment to catch my breath and return in a better form.”
The production team reassured her, saying, “Don’t you still have a lot to show?” and Kim Nam-joo replied, “I had many content ideas like camping or going to the East Sea that I wanted to film. There’s still a lot I haven’t shown.” She added, “If it weren’t for the subscribers, it would have been much harder. I endured thanks to the support from those who encouraged me in the comments, and I was amazed and grateful that so many people liked it.”
Additionally, she stated, “I will return with a more developed and mature appearance. I sincerely thank you.”
Since releasing her first video on May 22, Kim Nam-joo has been consistently communicating with her fans. Notably, her YouTube content has also been broadcasted as SBS LIFE ‘The Queen of Insight, Kim Nam-joo’.
