Comedian Lee Kyung-sil talked about her life.
On the 15th, Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun appeared as guests on tvN’s ‘Yoo Quiz on the Block’.
On that day, Yoo Jae-suk asked, “Lee Kyung-sil, Jo Hye-ryun’s relationship has now lasted 30 years. What does each of you mean to the other?”
Lee Kyung-sil replied, “Aren’t I the most senior here? Becoming a senior is really difficult. I always want to be a junior. It’s comfortable and nice to have a senior to lean on, but I’m afraid of making mistakes in front of the juniors.”
She continued, “These days, I don’t work with Jo Hye-ryun. Every time I meet her, I feel grateful. Thank you for working with me. Jo Hye-ryun could choose not to work with me, right? She could say she doesn’t want to work with me.” This brought a touching moment.
When Jo Hye-ryun joked, “Actually, I had that thought too,” Lee Kyung-sil responded, “But Jo Hye-ryun is working with me. I’m grateful for that feeling. I’ve now become a senior who has to consider the feelings of juniors.”
Jo Hye-ryun said, “Lee Kyung-sil is a senior, but I always thought of her as an older sister who nags. But she is a senior. The senior who was confidently active when I dreamed of being a comedian is now next to me. And we are working together. We will continue to work together in the future,” smiling.
Meanwhile, when asked, “What do you think life is?” Lee Kyung-sil confessed, “When I look at myself, I never thought my life would turn out this way. Among comedians, I’ve really gone through a lot of ups and downs.”
She added, “From the viewers’ perspective, they might think, ‘She should have stopped by now, but she’s still here.’ I feel sorry for those who think that.”
She continued, “I can confidently say that I’ve lived my life diligently. There were times I wanted to give up. But when I endured, there were things to laugh about. It really breaks my heart when young people give up. I want to say, ‘I also had a hard time, but if you just get through that moment and hold on a little longer, there will definitely be a day to laugh.’”
