“Thank you all”... ‘Gayo Stage’ 40th Anniversary Special 120-Minute Program

‘Gayo Stage’ has confirmed a 120-minute special program to celebrate its 40th anniversary on November 3rd.

According to the KBS1 ‘Gayo Stage’ team, the 40th anniversary special is themed “40 Years of Gayo Stage, Thank You All,” featuring a total of 24 singers from South Korea.

Among the artists are Im Mi-ja, a prominent figure in Korean popular music history, along with Yoon Hang-ki, Seo Yoo-seok, Kim Guk-hwan, Oh Seung-geun, Kim Soo-hee, No Sa-yeon, Choi Jin-hee, Seol Woon-do, Kim Yeon-ja, Jo Hang-jo, Jin Sung, Joo Hyun-mi, Jeong Jae-eun, Joo Byeong-seon, Park Hye-sin, Park Gu-yoon, Kang Moon-kyung, Ahn Seong-hoon, Yang Ji-eun, Kim Yong-bin, Ryu Won-jeong, Bae Ah-hyun, and Jeong Seo-joo, totaling 24 artists who will perform on 32 stages.

From the living legend Im Mi-ja, who is 84 years old, to Jeong Seo-joo, born in 2008, a wide range of traditional Korean music artists representing the country will gather, adding to the significance of the event.

The ‘Gayo Stage’ production team stated, “We prepared this special to express our gratitude to the domestic and international viewers who have given us endless love for 40 years,” and added, “This ‘Gayo Stage 40th Anniversary Special will be a meaningful stage that you won’t see again. Please don’t miss it.”

‘Gayo Stage’ has been a home for traditional songs filled with gentle nostalgia and memories since 1985. It has maintained its position as a top entertainment program every Monday, hosted by announcer Kim Dong-geon. Kim Dong-geon, who joined as an announcer in 1963, has been hosting ‘Gayo Stage’ for 33 years.

‘Gayo Stage’ airs every Monday at 10 PM.
