‘Gae-hul-ryung’ has returned.

On the broadcast of KBS2's entertainment show ‘Dogs Are Great’ (hereafter ‘Gae-hul-ryung’) on the 9th, the opening day of the country's first military academy for companion dogs was announced, marking a new beginning.

In this episode, the ‘Gae-hul-ryung Military Academy’ was unveiled for the first time. It showcased a new space that could not be seen in the previous format, capturing the viewers' attention. First to appear was Young-tak, who took the appointment exam for the position of head of the academic affairs department. After a moment of confusion due to a mysterious ‘dog sound’, he skillfully passed the test by putting a leash on the dog ‘Pox’, drawing from his experience of raising 10 dogs.

Next, Lee Kyung-kyu made a perfect transformation into the principal, showcasing great chemistry with Young-tak and announcing the official start of the Gae-hul-ryung Military Academy. Additionally, the country's top trainers Lee Woong-jong, Kwon Hyuk-pil, Yang Eun-soo, and Choi Min-hyuk took on the roles of homeroom teachers. They immediately engaged in sharp psychological warfare, raising the atmosphere. They even threw direct hits like “Aren't you a nobody?” and “Outdated style,” filling the scene with tension.

It was revealed that the first admission dogs of the Gae-hul-ryung Military Academy were not one but two, drawing everyone's attention. The couple of Jeju native dogs with strong hunting instincts, ‘Dong-kyung’ and ‘Kappa & Puma’, were the protagonists. The reappearance of ‘Kappa’, which had previously gained attention as an extraordinary fierce dog in episode 222 of ‘Gae-hul-ryung’, surprised everyone. Despite having received a solution earlier, Kappa still showed strong aggression, evoking sympathy from the viewers.

The newly introduced ‘Puma’ shocked everyone with its wildness surpassing that of Kappa. With extreme aggression, it was revealed that Puma had a history of two biting incidents and had caused the death of another dog, freezing the scene.

Legendary trainer Lee Woong-jong was assigned as Kappa's homeroom teacher. Kappa, which had previously shown such strong aggression that it could sever a guardian's finger bone, still displayed extreme biting and impulsiveness, foreshadowing challenges. There was a terrifying moment during the training process when Kappa charged at Lee Woong-jong, but they focused on correcting Kappa's aggressive habits through walking training with the guardian. They led the control training by blocking Kappa's attention before it could be distracted by other targets.

Choi Min-hyuk, a rising star among trainers, took on the role of Puma's homeroom teacher. He sharply diagnosed, “To the guardian, it’s a lovely child, but to others, it’s a wild beast.” He then began problem-solving by gradually teaching the guardian effective ways to control Puma's reactions to external stimuli like other dogs or cats. Despite his soft image, Choi Min-hyuk revealed a contrasting charm with his firm tone and tough training methods.

The results of the graduation test conducted afterward surprised everyone. Kappa, under the care of veteran Lee Woong-jong, failed to graduate, while Puma, under the youngest trainer Choi Min-hyuk, succeeded. Choi Min-hyuk became the first trainer to receive the ‘Golden Badge’ awarded to homeroom teachers who graduate their troubled dogs, overturning everyone's expectations.

Lee Woong-jong personally went down to Busan to conduct ‘make-up classes’ for Kappa, who failed to graduate. The guardian could not hide their surprise at Kappa's noticeably changed appearance after the training, saying, “It’s like magic.” In the end, the fearsome couple ‘Kappa & Puma’ successfully completed their training and became the first graduates of the ‘Gae-hul-ryung Military Academy’.

‘Gae-hul-ryung’ airs every Thursday at 9:50 PM.
