‘Knowing Bros’ captivated viewers with comedian Lee Young-ja's special day and the unexpected daily life of 'Korean Giant' Choi Hong-man.

In the episode aired on the 4th, the MBC entertainment program ‘Knowing Bros’ depicted a delightful day of Lee Young-ja, who has transformed into a food ingredient manager, and Choi Hong-man, who revealed his daily life after 20 years.

Before Lee Young-ja's daily life was shown, Choi Hong-man's appearance surprised everyone in the studio. Standing at 217cm tall, he lifted Hong Hyun-hee and Lee Young-ja one after the other, and while holding up Hong Hyun-hee's feet with one hand, he took out a gigantic shoe that was as big as her upper body, instantly turning the guests into 'little ones.'

Then, Lee Young-ja appeared as the 'food ingredient manager,' drawing attention. Having collected data on seasonal ingredients from across the country, she aimed to help farmers and promote the charm of seasonal ingredients by personally opening 'Yumi Gamak.' In particular, Lee Young-ja showed exceptional passion by directly sourcing the main ingredient, green onions, from Jecheon, Chungbuk.

Meanwhile, 'Yumi Gamak' featured Pung-ja as a part-time worker for the day. Pung-ja was astonished by the enormous amount of green onions weighing 100kg, and her struggle to move the green onions with Lee Young-ja brought laughter. After they finished transporting the green onions, Lalala's alter ego 'Lee Myung-hwa' made a surprise appearance to lend support for the restaurant opening.

After a friendly greeting filled with playful banter with Lee Myung-hwa, Lee Young-ja showcased various green onion dishes, including green onion cream cheese sandwiches and green onion tteokbokki, as well as the recipe for 'Lee Young-ja's chive kimchi' successor, green onion kimchi.

‘Yumi Gamak’ also welcomed special guests, enhancing the festive atmosphere for the Chuseok special. From the look-alike actors Park Jun-myeon and singer Jo Jae-ju to the alter ego of Lee Chang-ho, 'Lee Taek-jo,' they all joined in. The feast of dishes, including fish cake meat pancakes served with seasoned green onion, and steamed crab with shrimp, tantalized viewers' taste buds, especially the green onion tteokbokki, which received rave reviews and requests for 'green onion refills.'

The episode concluded warmly, showcasing the infinite possibilities of seasonal ingredients at Lee Young-ja's gamak.

Next, Choi Hong-man's home, where he has been living in Jeju for five years, was revealed for the first time. The temporary accommodation he is using before moving is filled with items that reflect his cute taste, catching the eye. Waking up at dawn, he surprised everyone by downing a 500mL bottle of water in one go, followed by eating 12 boiled eggs and several yogurts as snacks, and then taking nutritional supplements.

After getting ready to go out, Choi Hong-man went for a walk on the hill with his high school classmate and manager, Bae Sang-hoon. He mentioned that despite being tall, he finds it surprisingly okay to drive a compact car due to the high ceiling. He also said that he intentionally wears bright clothes during early morning walks to consider the people who might be surprised to see him. The manager shared, “When we had our first day of high school, Hong-man was the one who stood out above all the hundreds of students.”

Upon arriving at a famous sunrise spot, Choi Hong-man made a warm wish, and after finishing the walk, he continued his meal with his manager at a meat noodle restaurant. He surprised the studio once again by holding a large bowl with one hand while eating.

Choi Hong-man has been learning to make rice cakes, which he enjoys, for the past two years and has transformed into a part-time worker at a popular rice cake shop. He showcased his skills by moving 12kg of rice cake dough with one hand and shaping two rice cakes at a time, demonstrating his exceptional abilities. Additionally, he created a cheerful atmosphere by happily chatting with the mothers he works with, bringing great joy to viewers through his daily life in Jeju.

According to Nielsen Korea, the 367th episode of ‘Knowing Bros’ recorded a 1.7% rating in the key demographic of 2049, which is a crucial indicator of channel competitiveness, ranking first among all programs aired at the same time. Notably, after the last guest Lee Taek-jo appeared, the scene where Lee Young-ja grilled shrimp on a crab pot lid for the opening ceremony soared to a peak rating of 4.4%, providing viewers with delightful entertainment.

Meanwhile, ‘Knowing Bros’ airs every Saturday at 11:10 PM.
