JTBC's longest-running and flagship music variety program 'Hidden Singer' has confirmed the production of Season 8.
On the 2nd, JTBC announced, "After three years, 'Hidden Singer' has confirmed the production of Season 8 and will begin recruiting impersonators."
First launched in 2012, 'Hidden Singer' is a music variety program where original singers and impersonators compete against each other. It has received great love and attention over the years, featuring 84 top artists including Lee Moon-sae, Lim Jae-bum, Lee Seung-hwan, Shin Seung-hun, Lee So-ra, Yang Hee-eun, Psy, Uhm Jung-hwa, and IU.
'Hidden Singer 8 (Directed by Shin Young-gwang)' will recruit impersonators with excellent synchronization rates before the broadcast.
The production team revealed a glamorous recruitment list that includes Kang San-e, Kang Su-ji, the late Turtleman, Kim Gun-mo, Kim Dong-ryul, the late Kim Sung-jae, Kim Jang-hoon, Kim Jo-han, Kim Jun-su, Kim Chang-wan, Kim Hyun-jung, Naul, Davichi (Kang Min-kyung, Lee Hae-ri), Young K (Day6), Rosé, Kim Min-seok (Melomance), Park Myung-soo, Park Ji-yoon, Park Hyo-shin, Seo Taiji, Sung Si-kyung, Shim Soo-bong, IU, AKMU (Lee Soo-hyun, Lee Chan-hyuk), Yangpa, Ok Joo-hyun, the late Yoo Jae-ha, Yoon Mi-rae, Yoon-ha, Lee Seung-gi, Lee Seung-chul, Lee Jung-hyun, Lee Ji-hye, Lee Hyori, Lim Young-woong, Jang Ki-ha, Jang Na-ra, Jung In, Jennie, Jo Soo-mi, Jo Yong-pil, G-Dragon, Choi Baek-ho, Tak Jae-hoon, Taeyang, Taeyeon, Paul Kim, Ha Hyun-woo, Hyorin, and Kwon Jung-yeol (10CM).
The revealed expected lineup of original singers includes living legends like Kang San-e, Kim Chang-wan, Jo Soo-mi, Naul, and Lee Hyori, as well as Sung Si-kyung, the protagonist of the first episode of 'Hidden Singer 1', and the youngest original singer IU, raising expectations for a rematch after over ten years.
Additionally, following the special tribute episodes for the late Kim Kwang-seok in Season 2, the late Shin Hae-chul in Season 4, and the late Kim Hyun-sik in Season 7, this season will also feature the names of the late Kim Sung-jae, the late Turtleman, and the late Yoo Jae-ha, drawing attention to whether a special memorial space for fans will be created.
The production team stated, "We are already entering the 8th season. In Season 8, a more diverse and broader generation of artists will participate to showcase a stage that encompasses all generations. Please look forward to the unpredictable stage created by the original singers and impersonators."
