Director Kim Hyung-joo shared his thoughts ahead of the release of 'Victory'.
On the afternoon of the 19th, a screening and press conference for the film 'Victory' was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul. Director Kim Hyung-joo and actors Lee Byung-hun, Ko Chang-seok, Hyun Bong-sik, Moon Jung-hee, and Jo Woo-jin attended.
Director Kim Hyung-joo stated, "The most important thing for me was that, as someone who does not know Go, I wanted to ensure that those who also do not understand Go would not have difficulty following the story."
He continued, "After many ups and downs, we are finally able to present the film in theaters. I am just happy and grateful for that."
'Victory' tells the story of the legendary Go player Cho Hun-hyun (played by Lee Byung-hun), who, after losing a match against his disciple, challenges himself to reach the top once again with his innate competitive spirit. One of the lead actors, Yoo Ah-in, faced legal issues due to drug charges, causing delays, but the film is set to be released on the 26th.
