‘Kkokkomu’ covers Kim Gil-tae's claim of diminished responsibility for the murder and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.

The SBS entertainment program ‘The Story of That Day’ (hereinafter ‘Kkokkomu’), airing on the 2nd, is themed ‘Kim Gil-tae and the Dark King’ and delves into the heinous case of Kim Gil-tae, who murdered and sexually assaulted a girl and disposed of her body in a water tank.

In 2010, the body of a 13-year-old girl who went missing from a boiler water tank was discovered, shocking the Busan area. Kim Gil-tae's DNA was found on the body, but when apprehended, he denied, saying, “I couldn’t have done that,” and “I was drunk and don’t remember.”

Eventually, he bizarrely stated, “I am consumed by the Dark King,” prompting Shin So-yul to express her frustration, saying, “I can’t believe it, I can’t believe it,” and she let out a deep sigh. Furthermore, Kim Gil-tae claimed diminished responsibility based on his mental health records, leading Shin So-yul to shout, “Absolutely not.”

As it was revealed that not only Kim Gil-tae but also the perpetrators of the Jung Yoo-jung case, the Incheon teacher's gun incident, and the murder of elementary school students by teacher Myung Jae-wan claimed diminished responsibility, Jo Woo-jin expressed his outrage, questioning, “Whose judgment is this for?” and Kim Gi-bang remarked, “Our country is too lenient on diminished responsibility. It’s the worst, absolutely the worst,” unable to hide his bitterness.

Additionally, it is reported that audio files of Kim Gil-tae's statements from the time of the incident will be released for the first time, raising curiosity about the content of the audio files and the identity of the ‘Dark King’ that Kim claims to be associated with, which can be confirmed in the main broadcast of ‘Kkokkomu’.

‘Kkokkomu’ is a program where three ‘storytellers’ share their insights with their ‘story friends’ in a one-on-one format in the most ordinary spaces, airing every Thursday at 10:20 PM.
