Announcer Kwak Min-seon revealed her love story with her fiancé Song Min-kyu.
On the 29th, the TV Chosun entertainment program ‘Lovers of Joseon’ aired the daily life of the engaged couple, announcer Kwak Min-seon and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors player Song Min-kyu. During the broadcast, the two shared memories of their first meeting and the behind-the-scenes story of the surprise proposal, creating a sweet atmosphere.
Kwak Min-seon recalled their first meeting, saying, “(I met Song Min-kyu) through work. He was one of the players I interviewed. (To be honest, my first impression was) I found him a bit scary. I didn’t feel much of an age difference, and rather than feeling he was young, my first impression was that he had blonde hair at that time.”
On the other hand, Song Min-kyu said, “(Kwak Min-seon) was really pretty. She spoke very well, and after the interview, she left me a DM saying thank you for your hard work. I didn’t expect her to respond, and I was just a young twenty-one at that time,” recalling the moment with a smile.
Kwak Min-seon continued, “In fact, Min-kyu was very young at that time, and I initially thought of him more like a younger brother. (However) when we met in a private setting, he was sweeter than I expected,” sharing how her impression changed after their first meeting.
She also revealed her concerns during the early stages of their relationship. “I tried to keep (the fact that we were dating) somewhat hidden. I walked a bit away from him. At that time, there were people who viewed dating sensitively, and I was just worried that if this relationship was exposed, it might cause him stress, so I tried to hide it a lot,” she confessed.
Additionally, Kwak Min-seon recalled the proposal ceremony that Song Min-kyu held in front of thousands of spectators last May, saying, “There were tens of thousands of spectators. I wasn’t (there) at the scene,” adding, “I was broadcasting, I had no idea about the proposal ceremony, and after the event, when I was with the fans, someone asked, ‘Sister, are you getting married?’ I was like, ‘Me?’ and they said, ‘An article came out,’ so we watched it together. My phone was ringing a lot from the company and friends. (Song Min-kyu) did the ceremony and even said in an interview, ‘I will soon propose to Min-seon.’”
She added, “The next day, I went to see Min-kyu. I went to his house, but he wasn’t there, and there were flowers everywhere. He had prepared a formal proposal. So when I saw that, all the worries I had melted away.”
