Yulhee, a former member of the group Laboum, revealed the reason for disclosing the reasons for her divorce from FT Island's Choi Min-hwan late.
On the 29th, the Channel A entertainment program 'Close Friends Documentary - 4-Person Dining Table' featured actress Bang Eun-hee along with her close friends Yulhee and lawyer Yang So-young.
Yulhee married Choi Min-hwan in 2018 and has three children, but they divorced by mutual agreement in 2023 after five years of marriage. At that time, they agreed not to exchange any money regarding alimony and property division, and Choi Min-hwan retained all custody and parental rights.
When asked how she told her parents about her decision to divorce, Yulhee replied, “At that time, I didn’t explain the situation and just said, ‘I really think I need to get a divorce. Please don’t ask me anything.’”
However, in October of last year, Yulhee revealed that Choi Min-hwan had frequented entertainment establishments during their marriage and filed a lawsuit against him for a change of custody and claims for alimony and property division.
Yulhee stated that by disclosing the process of their breakup, her parents learned about the situation, saying, “As soon as my mother saw the article, she called me weeping. She said, ‘Why didn’t you tell me how hard it was? I could have at least offered some words of comfort.’”
She continued, “At the time of the divorce, I thought revealing it would be like spitting in my own face. I wanted to handle it quietly and neatly, especially for the children.”
Meanwhile, after Yulhee's revelation, Choi Min-hwan was reported for charges of prostitution and sexual assault, but the police dismissed the case due to insufficient evidence.
