Trot singer Park Gyuri shared her experience of overcoming a life-and-death situation after being diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage at the age of 34.
On the 24th, Park Gyuri appeared as a case study in the KBS1 program ‘The Secret of Life and Death’ episode titled ‘The Hidden Triggers of Stroke’. On that day, she stated, “I felt a headache like a lightning strike, something I usually wouldn’t feel, and thought ‘something is wrong’.” She continued, “The pain became increasingly severe, and when I pressed my eyes, I couldn’t see in front of me. It was a serious situation, and the X-ray results showed that blood had already burst in my brain,” vividly recounting the moment she was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage in her 30s.
Additionally, Park Gyuri revealed, “My doctor said that if I had vomited or hadn’t come to the hospital quickly, it could have burst in another area, leading to even more severe paralysis, and it was very critical for my life,” confessing that she was in a situation where she could have easily lost her life.
Regarding the cause of her brain hemorrhage, she mentioned, “At that time, I was busy organizing an arts troupe and performing with a military band, and I was so busy that I didn’t have time,” pointing to ‘overwork’ as a potential cause.

Finally, Park Gyuri reflected, “I thought it was a disease that would come at least in my 50s, so I was very surprised to be diagnosed. I felt it would be too unfair to die like this,” and mentioned that she has since maintained a healthy lifestyle, leaving a deep impression on the viewers.
On that day, ‘The Secret of Life and Death’ focused on the factors that could influence brain hemorrhages, such as the heart, sleep, and periodontal disease, based on Park Gyuri’s case.
Meanwhile, Park Gyuri is actively working as the ‘Trot Goddess’ with songs like ‘Love’s Arirang’, ‘Spoon and Chopsticks’, ‘I’m a Woman’, ‘You’re a Match, I’m a Pair’, and ‘Let’s Go Together’.
Furthermore, based on her experience of having a brain hemorrhage in her 30s, she is actively working as a ‘health evangelist’ and has also gained recognition as the MC of TV Chosun’s ‘The Law of Disease’.
