'Mantis' Go Hyun-jung's past has been revealed.
In the episode aired on the 19th, SBS 'Mantis: The Murderer's Outing' depicted Cha Soo-yeol (played by Jang Dong-yoon) discovering the past of Jeong Yi-shin (played by Go Hyun-jung).
On that day, Cha Soo-yeol visited the psychiatrist who treated Jeong Yi-shin in the past to learn more about her. Accompanied by Choi Jung-ho (played by Jo Sung-ha), who deliberately caused a commotion outside the consultation room, Cha Soo-yeol took the opportunity to sneak a peek at Jeong Yi-shin's medical records while the doctor was away.
Through the medical records, Cha Soo-yeol learned that Jeong Yi-shin's mother died in front of her. He immediately went to find her grandfather, Jeong Hyun-nam (played by Lee Hwang).
Jeong Hyun-nam said, "At that time, there was a fire at home, and the child's mother couldn't come out. Hearing her scream for help, she tried to go in to save her mother. I was scared. Out of fear, all I did was hold onto that child tightly, preventing her from going into the fire, until I bled. I just thought, 'I can't lose that child too'."
He continued, "Since then, that child has closed her heart to me. Perhaps she committed those terrible acts because of her mother’s incident. It's all my fault."
Meanwhile, 'Mantis: The Murderer's Outing' airs every Friday at 9:50 PM and Saturday at 10 PM.
