Kweedo showed extraordinary genius traits.
On the afternoon of the 30th, the JTBC variety show ‘Knowing Bros’ (hereafter ‘Ahyung’) featured guests Kweedo, Lee Sa-bae, and Chungju Man.
During the broadcast, Chungju Man expressed his disappointment, saying, “You contacted me too late, I don’t know what to do with my body,” and added, “It was so late that I could feel the bones in my marrow.” When Kim Young-chul and Lee Sang-min asked why he was aiming for a fixed spot, Chungju Man replied, “If I get permission, I can take on multiple jobs,” and said, “If a fixed offer comes, I could consider it.”
Chungju Man also mentioned being disappointed with Kim Hee-chul, saying, “I did a show with Hee-chul, and he really liked me. He asked for my contact information and said he would invite me to a drinking party. I wondered what kind of drinking party stars like him have,” and he mentioned that he took a vacation from Chungju and headed straight to Seoul.
He continued, “You know the burning champagne, right? And going up to the top floor. But when I got there, it was like a neighborhood pub. There were local residents. I thought the food would be good, but it was some kind of stew. And the friends who came were only Kweedo, Lee Sang-yeob, and Lee Seok-hoon. After that, I stopped receiving calls,” revealing that he cut ties. Hearing this, Kim Hee-chul said, “No wonder he didn’t reply,” feeling embarrassed.
Lee Sa-bae, who changed her real name, said, “I was originally Ye-ji, but the name Ye-ji felt weaker than me,” and added, “I got a new name from a naming agency, and the name Sa-bae doesn’t sound like a person’s name, but it feels like mine. I went to a fortune teller again with someone else, and they said my name would become a brand. They also said that it’s not on TV, but I keep seeing squares. Later, I realized that it was YouTube,” she explained.
Lee Sa-bae mentioned, “I worked with a special makeup team at another broadcasting company,” and explained her motivation for starting YouTube, saying, “While doing makeup at a shop in Cheongdam-dong, I felt it was a shame to just finish with the customers, so I thought if I shared it on YouTube, many people could see it.”
Kweedo said, “Before YouTube, I was also giving university lectures, and scientists gathered to make science videos for over a month, but it was so boring. I thought this wouldn’t work, so I named it ‘Science That Can’t Be.’ Now, fans call it ‘Science That Shouldn’t Exist,’” he said.
Chungju Man expressed his bitterness, saying, “At first, when the channel was small, people viewed it positively, but as the channel grew, there was more criticism and content that I couldn’t handle compared to before.” He added, “I’ve received contacts from central ministries and private companies,” and mentioned, “At first, the higher-ups opposed following trending memes, but I continued to pursue what I wanted.”
Kweedo, who wrote ‘verbal skills’ as the secret to success, said, “There’s a misunderstanding that science itself is fun. It’s not that I’m fun, but science is fun, but there aren’t many opportunities to engage with it. I study culture a lot,” he stated. When Kim Hee-chul asked, “Aren’t you a K-pop demon hunter?” Kweedo replied, “Of course I know. I was thinking if I could use Golden. There are planets that are just right for life to exist. This is called the Goldilocks zone.”
When asked if he was smart from a young age, Kweedo replied, “When I was young, I thought I was smart. I believed there was a reason I was born this way, so I started looking for the most difficult field of study. I found out it was astrophysics. I was a preschooler at that time,” surprising the members. When asked if his family studied well, he humorously replied, “My sister went to Korea University... so it wasn’t bad.” Shindong asked, “Isn’t ‘not bad’ Korea University, and if you do well, Yonsei?”
Kweedo also responded to a question about whether Yoonha’s husband likes science, saying, “I’m a very close science communicator (Science Cookie). I was the one who first connected the two on the phone. I switched the calls when I was having a meal with Yoonha.”
Kweedo was asked why he participated in a survival game. He replied, “When I was invited to the program, I said I would go if I could talk about science. I went because it was broadcasted in 190 countries. I kept talking about science in the dorm. In interviews, I would quote scientists first. But when all that got cut, I just became a quiet gamer,” he revealed.
Hearing this, Shindong added, “You appeared as a person like a peacekeeper on that program. ‘Let’s find a way for all of us to live,’” which made everyone laugh.
Kweedo mentioned, “Scientists saw and contacted me, saying that I showed the role scientists should play in the world in a small world,” but added, “I won’t participate again. The survival program itself is too vulnerable for my personality. I get a lot of stress. But I really like collaborating.”
Afterward, the students’ presentation class took place. Lee Sa-bae said, “Hodong’s face is wide horizontally, so I think he’s trying to compensate by styling his hair up, but I’ll make him look cooler,” and put sunglasses on Hodong. However, the production team made a ‘ding’ sound, causing laughter.
Next was the visual member Min Kyung-hoon. Lee Sa-bae said, “He has a soda pop vibe, so I’ll give him the trendy male idol blush,” and applied red on his nose. Seeing this, Seo Jang-hoon teased, “If you go in like this today, won’t you get slapped by your sister-in-law?” Min Kyung-hoon shyly replied, “No, she said she would make something delicious today. She cooks well,” and the members were impressed when he added freckle stickers.
Finally, Chungju Man utilized his strengths to create a promotional video for the 500th episode of ‘Ahyung,’ and the final video was revealed.
