Actor Jung Sung-il confessed that he worked part-time even after the release of Netflix’s ‘The Glory’.
On the 22nd, the MBN and Channel S show ‘The Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2’ featured a gourmet travel segment with Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube.
On that day, Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube met their food friend Jung Sung-il and visited a restaurant famous for acorn jelly, followed by a restaurant known for flatfish. Jung Sung-il enjoyed grilled flatfish and flatfish soup, and Kwak Tube was amazed, saying, “He really eats well. He’s one of the best eaters among the food friends we’ve had.”
At that moment, Jeon Hyun-moo asked, “How did Jung Sung-il debut? Wasn’t it a long period of obscurity?” Jung Sung-il replied, “I did theater for a long time. About five years. I loved theater, so I only did theater in Daehangno.” He mentioned that he moved to Seoul with his belongings after dropping out of college in his first year.
When Kwak Tube asked, “How did you endure the long period of obscurity?” Jung Sung-il said, “I worked part-time while doing performances little by little. I did just about everything. I opened a café in the morning, managed parking there, and worked at a wine bar in the evening.”
Jung Sung-il surprised everyone by saying he worked part-time even after the release of Netflix’s ‘The Glory’. He stated, “I did delivery part-time for Coupang.”
When Jeon Hyun-moo asked, “Why did you do that? Wasn’t the settlement done?” Jung Sung-il explained, “I received the settlement. But I still had to make a living. It wasn’t a huge amount of money for me.” He added, “After that, I reached a point where I didn’t have to work part-time anymore.”
When Kwak Tube said, “If you want to maintain your livelihood for 20 years, I think you must have thought a lot about ‘Should I stop now?’” Jung Sung-il replied, “I thought a lot. In my early 30s, I wondered, ‘Can I make a living through acting?’ But I also think, could I have done something else? I would have taken a break and then come back. I wouldn’t have been able to do anything else.” He expressed his passion for acting.
