Actor Ma Dong-seok shared his thoughts on returning to the drama scene after a long time through ‘Twelve’.
On the 20th, the production presentation for KBS2's new weekend mini-series ‘Twelve’ took place at the Ambassador Pullman Seoul located in Jung-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Ma Dong-seok, Park Hyung-sik, Seo In-guk, Lee Joo-bin, Kang Mina, Seong Yu-bin, Ahn Ji-hye, Taiwanese Regina Ray, director Kang Dae-kyu, and director Han Yoon-sun. Go Gyu-pil, who was scheduled to attend, was absent due to health reasons.
Ma Dong-seok is making his return to dramas about 10 years after the OCN drama ‘38th Special Police Unit’ aired in 2016.
On this day, Ma Dong-seok briefly answered the reason for his return to the drama scene after 10 years, saying, “The timing just happened to be right now, there’s no particular reason.”
He also humorously added regarding the drama's viewership goals, “I hope you’ll watch it nicely.”
Seo In-guk, who worked with Ma Dong-seok in ‘38th Special Police Unit’, expressed his anticipation, saying, “The chemistry with (Ma Dong-seok) was really good back then, and I wanted to feel that again, but it took 10 years. I think the viewers will also watch it nicely.”
‘Twelve’, a series inspired by the 12 zodiac signs of the East, depicts a battle where 12 angels, living in human form to protect humanity, confront the forces of evil. It aims to set a new milestone in the K-action hero genre.
Based on the Eastern myth of the 12 zodiac signs, ‘Twelve’ builds an expansive worldview with a universal sentiment that global viewers can relate to, along with an intriguing narrative of the conflict between good and evil, featuring the angels led by ‘Taesan’ (Ma Dong-seok) and the evil forces centered around ‘Ogui’ (Park Hyung-sik).
Ma Dong-seok plays Taesan, the leader of the 12 angels who possesses the strength of a tiger. Seo In-guk portrays the monkey angel Wonseung in the series.
The action hero series ‘Twelve’, which captures the greatest battle on earth between good and evil for the peace of the world, will premiere on the 23rd at 9:20 PM on KBS2's weekend mini-series. It will also be available to global viewers on Disney+ right after the broadcast.
