Professor Ahn Woo-kyung revealed that he uses the music videos of the group BTS as teaching materials.
On the 20th, Professor Ahn Woo-kyung, the first Korean tenured professor of psychology at Yale University, appeared as a guest on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block'.
On that day, Yoo Jae-suk asked Professor Ahn, "What kind of class do you teach?" Professor Ahn replied, "The title is 'Thinking'. It is a class that teaches how to think rationally, what harm can come from not thinking rationally, and better ways to think."
When Yoo Jae-suk mentioned that Professor Ahn makes students dance during class, Professor Ahn said, "I cut a 6-second clip from a BTS music video and show it to the students, saying 'If you do it exactly, you will get a reward.' I play it 10 times in a row. When I say 'Those who want to dance, come out,' about 15 students confidently come out. When the music plays, it becomes a complete mess," he laughed.
Professor Ahn explained, "The point of that experiment is to show that while you might think in your head, 'I can do that,' when you actually try it, you realize you can't. The same goes for interviews. You can think of everything in your head, but the words don't come out. You have to try it out loud," he said.
