The MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Mary Kills People' (written by Lee Soo-ah, directed by Park Jun-woo), which aired on the 2nd, recorded a nationwide rating of 2.1% and a rating of 2.3% in the metropolitan area according to Nielsen Korea. The ending scene where Jo Hyun-woo (played by Lee Min-ki) kisses Woo So-jung (played by Lee Bo-young) and then another face appears when Detective Boo (played by Tae Hang-ho) calls Hyun-woo saw the highest rating soar to 3.5%.

Woo So-jung reflected on the three criteria for assisted death: "Incurable by the opinion of three or more doctors, unbearable physical disability, and pain that cannot be controlled by any medication," and Dae-hyun added, "We plan to mix Benpo and provide it to the clients," pouring champagne for Woo So-jung and Ye-na.
Returning to the present, Woo So-jung and Dae-hyun met high school student Jo Soo-young (played by Lee Won-jung), who was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 cancer and had about two weeks left. Jo Soo-young expressed her desperation, saying, "I want to die quickly. It's unfair to die, and I don't want to go through that kind of pain," after hearing the doctor's warning that greater pain would come in the remaining time. Woo So-jung ultimately decided to assist Jo Soo-young in dying before Jo Hyun-woo, who was in a more serious condition.
Afterward, Woo So-jung coincidentally met Jo Hyun-woo at Yang Shin-bu's (played by Kwon Hae-yo) welfare hospital, where Hyun-woo said, "I thought about what I really want to do, and I want to organize my surroundings," indicating that he had taken Woo So-jung's advice to prepare for his end to heart.
Then, Woo So-jung encountered Jo Hyun-woo sitting on the stairs, and when he said, "My eyes have been getting blurry lately," she reached out her hand. The two held hands tightly and descended the dark stairs together, with Hyun-woo asking, "Why do you do this? Helping people who are dying." Woo So-jung replied, "I believe people should be able to choose between life and death. Death is not a crime," expressing her firm belief in assisted death.
During this time, Jo Hyun-woo mentioned wanting to go to a place he wanted to be with Woo So-jung, where he had spent his happiest moments, leading them to the orphanage where he lived as a child. Inside the orphanage, Hyun-woo naturally held Woo So-jung's hand and expressed his wish to meet his end in the neighborhood where he lived with his parents. When Woo So-jung asked why he chose assisted death, Hyun-woo calmly replied, "I've tried everything, but nothing has changed. I could give up because I've tried everything," leaving Woo So-jung speechless.
Unable to give up on Jo Hyun-woo, Woo So-jung secretly looked into a new clinical trial and took Hyun-woo with her, but he exploded in anger, saying, "You're just like other doctors. You don't care how hard or painful the patient is," and pushed her away before leaving. Afterward, Woo So-jung searched for Hyun-woo, inquiring about his whereabouts from the delivery company he worked for to the goshiwon he lived in, but ultimately could not find him.
However, when Woo So-jung returned to the welfare hospital and was threatened by a violent husband attacking a patient, Jo Hyun-woo appeared and saved her. Woo So-jung treated Hyun-woo's hand, which was injured while trying to hit the violent husband with a flower pot, and they both apologized for their previous actions.
At the same time, when Jo Hyun-woo gifted Woo So-jung a hairpin to pin back her bangs, she was overwhelmed with emotion. Woo So-jung confessed her special feelings, saying, "Do you really want to end it like this? I want you to live."
