Announcer Park Cheol-kyu shared his feelings about becoming the new MC of 'Morning Yard'.
On the 4th, KBS1's 'Morning Yard' opened with announcer Eom Ji-in and traditional musician Nam Sang-il.
Nam Sang-il jokingly said, "There are days like this in life," and Eom Ji-in expressed, "I'm really happy to stand on the MC seat with master singer Nam Sang-il."
Nam Sang-il remarked, "Only someone like me, who has experienced the ups and downs of over 35 years as an MC, can do this. Look at my face; it shows the storms I've been through. Where can you find a young, handsome announcer like me?"
At that moment, the new MC, Park Cheol-kyu, appeared and sang "What's Wrong with My Age," presenting roses to the audience. Notably, the lyrics "What's wrong with my age, it's the perfect age to host" caught attention.
After settling into the MC seat, announcer Park Cheol-kyu expressed, "I was born in 1991, and I can't believe I'm hosting 'Morning Yard,' which was born in the same year, alongside this beloved program."
He continued, "Moreover, being the successor to senior Kim Jae-won," adding that he received encouragement from Kim Jae-won, who told him to "have fun and be comfortable in the morning."
Park Cheol-kyu also mentioned, "I was worried about how I could possibly follow in the footsteps of senior Kim Jae-won, with his experience, sincerity, and eloquence. I've lost about 3kg over the past two weeks. I had many worries, but if there's anything I have going for me, it's my youth and vigor. I know I have many shortcomings, but I will do my best to deliver a lively morning to everyone. Please look kindly upon me."
Announcer Eom Ji-in added, "I will also work with Park Cheol-kyu to bring new energy and vitality to 'Morning Yard.' I ask for your support."
At the end of the broadcast, when asked about his feelings as an MC, Park Cheol-kyu said, "It was so overwhelming. I was nervous and trembling, but please look kindly upon me. I will be back tomorrow as usual. Thank you."
Announcer Kim Jae-won, who has long been a part of 'Morning Yard,' recently decided to take honorary retirement and stepped down after the broadcast on the 31st of last month. Announcer Park Cheol-kyu, who hosted the Friday segment of 'Morning Yard,' has taken over as Kim Jae-won's successor.
