Announcer Park Cheol-kyu shared his feelings about becoming the host of “Morning Yard.”
In the broadcast of KBS1’s “Morning Yard” on the 1st, the segment was decorated with the “Ssing Ssing Party” corner, where host announcer Park Cheol-kyu and singer Kim Soo-chan greeted each other warmly to open the show.
Kim Soo-chan said, “There’s something to celebrate from the start,” and sang a line for Park Cheol-kyu. He then asked announcer Park Cheol-kyu, “You’ve taken the place of the great Kim Jae-won. Aren’t you feeling pressured?”
In response, announcer Park Cheol-kyu said, “I haven’t even stepped into the yard yet. I’m the yard keeper. Thanks to Kim Soo-chan and the ‘Ssing Ssing Party,’” expressing his gratitude.
Announcer Park Cheol-kyu stated, “I’m happy to do this on Fridays, but I also feel grateful and worried about greeting everyone on weekday mornings. I am someone with many shortcomings. Still, I hope you will see me as lovely as I am now. I will do my best to create a lively morning as always.”
Kim Jae-won, who has been a part of “Morning Yard” for a long time, recently decided to take honorary retirement and stepped down after the broadcast on the 31st of last month. Announcer Park Cheol-kyu has taken over the hosting of “Morning Yard” following Kim Jae-won. Park Cheol-kyu has previously hosted programs such as “Who Does It Better” and “KBS News Plaza.”
In his last broadcast of “Morning Yard,” announcer Kim Jae-won said, “It has been over 30 years since I joined KBS in 1995, and it has been 28 years since I greeted you in April 1997 during the Saturday event of ‘Morning Yard.’ Please share this beautiful farewell with me,” and added, “I am carefully reading and cherishing every word of encouragement you have left me. I will take it as a life lesson and your support, keeping it in mind as I endure in a wider world.”
