Actor Lee Jin-wook praised the passionate performance of his junior colleague Jung Chae-yeon from the same agency.
On the afternoon of the 31st, the production presentation for JTBC's new weekend drama "Esquire: Lawyers Who Dream of Being Lawyers" (written by Park Mi-hyun, directed by Kim Jae-hong, hereafter "Esquire") was held at The Link Seoul Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul. Lee Jin-wook, Jung Chae-yeon, Lee Hak-joo, Jeon Hye-bin, and director Kim Jae-hong attended the event.
"Esquire" is an office growth drama that tells the story of rookie lawyer Kang Hyo-min (played by Jung Chae-yeon), who is just and bold but inexperienced in social life, growing into a complete lawyer through the partner lawyer Yoon Seok-hoon (played by Lee Jin-wook), who exudes coldness but is the best in skill.
Lee Jin-wook plays the role of partner lawyer Yoon Seok-hoon from the litigation team of the law firm Yullim. Yoon Seok-hoon is a creative lawyer who always presents fresh and plausible arguments against stuffy lawyers trapped in the dogma of law. Rookie lawyer Kang Hyo-min, who grows under Yoon Seok-hoon's mentoring, is played by Jung Chae-yeon.
What was it like when the two colleagues from the same agency met on set? Lee Jin-wook said, "From the first shoot, she did so well. She came as Kang Hyo-min. I was curious about how she would do, but she did it reliably from the first shoot, so I felt proud as a senior, even though I didn't teach her anything. I was even prouder because she is a junior from the same company. We shared a lot of personal conversations and joked around a lot. Since we already knew each other, the time to get close was short," he praised.
In response, Jung Chae-yeon also expressed, "I learned so much from my senior. I actually have a bit of shyness, but my senior approached me first. I was grateful that he made me feel comfortable as a co-actor. Thanks to that, I was able to act without worry."
"Esquire," the follow-up to "Good Boy," will premiere on August 2 at 10:40 PM.
